Cholesterol and Lifestyle
I understand that I should cut back on cholesterol-heavy foods. But are there any good cholesterol foods that I can eat to balance out my "bad" cholesterol cravings? Can I just cut out some and still enjoy others?
How do you guys make it work?
Cholesterol and Lifestyle
Hi Mike. I don't know if there are any good cholesterol foods. I do know that things like red meat, diary products, fried foods etc are bad news. I have become vegetarian for my health's sake and am now trying to come up with a simple way to exercise as I understand that exercise is an excellent way to lower cholesterol. I have no desire to take statins!
Cholesterol is something
Cholesterol is something that we all need to balance out in our diets in order to maintain our health. Having too much of one or the other can have detrimental effects on our bodies causing problems with our health. My husband is diabetic and I have learned several ways to reduce the "Bad" cholesterol for myself. Drink plenty of water, exercise, reduce your stress level and eat lots of fiber foods. Also stay away from fast foods that contain a lot of calories as well as cholesterol. Hamburgers and french fries are loaded with both. Eating more vegetables and grain cereals is a good way to reduce the HDL cholesterol.
I read a few articles at: www.compukiss.com about cholesterol. They have lots of useful information and advise. The more you know the less likely you are to have high choloesterol. Since reading and learning about it for myself, I have been able to reduce my cholesterol 50 points so that I am now in the normal range.
